Sir Gawain is the nephew of King Arthur and a Knight of the Round Table in the Arthurian Legends. He is one of a select number of Round Table members to be referred to as one of the greatest and the most trustworthy knights. He was known to be the most trustworthy friend of Sir Lancelot. But, at the final battle of king Arthur, his friend Lancelot killed his two brothers, Gareth and Gaheris. Filled with rage and deep sadness he never forgave Sir Lancelot for what he did and remained hostile to him to the bitter end.

Sir Gawain died after being struck by an enemy on the battle of Camlann, already weakened by Lancelot.
